Frequently Asked Queries
Do you teach demonstration lessons and work with classes?
Yes, appropriate courses can be delivered as practical sessions, workshops for children or demonstration lessons to observe.
What can I expect if I book a package or course?
Prompt and ongoing personal contact by phone, Skype or email. For bespoke packages we’ll always make sure we fully understand your training needs and desired outcomes, and ensure that we can deliver on this before agreeing a remit. We won’t promise anything that’s beyond our means to provide.
Are there any additional costs?
We’ll provide a quote on receipt of your enquiry. Travel (and accommodation costs) will be included in the quote, provided the quote is for a booking within 12 months. We will provide digital versions of required resources and course notes. We ask that schools arrange and cover printing and photocopying if this is something they require.
Will you work with PRUs or secure units?
Yes. I’m happy to deliver courses and workshops to all registered settings including PRUs and secure units, as well as primary and secondary schools, hospital education, tutoring centres and alternative education.
Can I download the resources used in your courses?
Yes, links will be provided when the course is delivered. Many course resources are also available to download on the ‘Resources’ page.
How much do you charge?
Course fees range from £300 for twilight sessions to £1500 for bespoke full-day consultancy. If outside Yorkshire or Cornwall, fees do not include travel and/or accommodation which would need to be agreed in advance.
Can I book many months in advance?
Yes, advance bookings are welcome. Please note, traditional UK inset day dates book up very quickly. There’s an availability calendar on the contact page.
Can I write for The School Reading List?
